We will honor and recognize Dr. Gallagher for his nearly 14 years of service at River Road Church, Baptist on his last Sunday as Minister of Music. All are invited to join us for worship at 11:00 a.m. with a celebratory reception to follow.

Further details will be shared on this page—rrcb.org/bob—as they become available.

During his tenure, Bob has continued the music tradition at River Road Church—expanding our anthem and hymn catalogs, growing the one-of-the-kind Chancel Choir, beginning the acclaimed River Road Camerata youth choir, spearheading the Rejoice & Give Thanks Capital Campaign to restore and rebuild the Sanctuary Möller organ, while ministering to children, youth, and adults through his love of music, teaching, and worshiping together.

We can’t forget the E. Carl Freeman Concert Series! For 14 seasons, Bob has filled the Sanctuary with first-class organists and musicians, collegiate choirs, and world-renowned groups—The Tallis Scholars, Chanticleer, The King’s Singers, and more. Each season, the River Road Chancel Choir presents two concerts—one at Christmas and one to close out the season in the spring. During these choir concerts, Bob is multifaceted, from choirmaster and conductor to organist, harpsichordist, and pianist.

We are excited to celebrate Bob and his ministry to River Road Church and the Richmond music community.

Please bring a note of thanks—

We’ll be collecting all the notes and cards for Bob in a basket provided in the Fellowship Hall on June 29. Or, if you’re unable to be present and would like to send a note, please send a card c/o the church office, and we’ll add it to the basket that day!
