It Only Takes a Spark
River City Faith Network Missions Offering
RRCB Offering Goal: $2,000
“For this reason, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” 2 Timothy 1:6
It only takes a spark, they say, to get a fire going. During the River City Faith Network Missions Offering emphasis, you’re invited to pray for the needs of the centers, camp, and staff, and to consider what gifts you may offer in support of these ministries. Designated envelopes for RCFN Missions Offering are available in the pew racks—please write “RCFN Offering” in the memo/note of your check.
River City Faith Network
Your prayers invite the Spirit’s work in igniting our hearts to minister to those in need. Your prayers provide the resources of strength and encouragement to meet the needs of those that are hungry, unhoused, or in need of clothing or furniture. Your prayers provide the resources to send under-resourced children in our community to experience God’s creation at camp in the summer. Please pray that God will light a spark in RCFN churches, RCFN communities, and RCFN ministries that all may know the grace of redemption and help our beloved Richmond flourish.
Church Hill Christian Wellness Center
Rev. Glinda Ford serves the community of the 23223 zip code through various ministries that include clothing, food, financial assistance, Bible Study and support. Join them in prayer: clarity for areas the center needs remissioning; identifying area agencies for collaboration and support to strengthen community well-being; those that come to the center where their physical and spiritual needs can be met.
Oregon Hill Baptist Center
In 2026, the Oregon Hill Baptist Center completed its transition to focusing the majority of its resources—financial support, volunteers, programs, and more—on a partnership ministry with the unhoused community of Richmond. Join them in prayer. Pray for the growing number of individuals from the unhoused community who are becoming an active part of the Pine Street Baptist Church community. Ask that the church would continue to be a place of genuine welcome and companionship for those who often lack both in their daily lives. Pray for wisdom and guidance as we explore new ways to create a deeper, more lasting impact in the lives of those who come to the Center. Ask that these efforts would lead to meaningful, sustained change for all who are served. Pray for members of the unhoused community to be willing and empowered to help lead us in this exploration. Ask that their voices would guide the work with wisdom, insight, and lived experience.
South Richmond Baptist Center
The South Richmond Baptist Center exists to reach families, individuals and children with the Love of Christ. Through Back-to-School back packs of school supplies, food pantry groceries, furniture bank, and gently used clothing, are some of the wide assortment of ministries we offer to this diverse community of African Americans, Hispanic/Latino and Euro-Americans of this community. Join them in prayer. All around the South Richmond Community, we experience separation of many types. We are praying that the Satellite center will be a light to bring children, families and individuals together in Jesus name. Divisions are seen nationwide, but through the Love of Jesus we can unite families, and groups of people of all backgrounds. Our ministry desire is to be a place to help hold up the family units, individuals, and various ethnic groups in the South Richmond community. Pray for the new ‘casual but smart’ gently used and new clothing ministry for young men and teen-aged youth as we offer clothing for job interviews, funerals, court appearances, hospital visits. Pray for the infant clothing and care for new mothers and families. We have a huge selection of infant clothing and diapers.
Camp Alkulana
Camp Alkulana is so grateful for the opportunity to host their 112th season of camp this summer! Volunteers have worked to knock off the cobwebs and sweep away the dust and get their campgrounds ready to host about 200 campers this summer. Thank you for all of the ways you support Camp Alkulana and make these life-shaping experiences possible. Join them in prayer. Pray for our summer staff as we plan and prepare for our ministry together. Pray that more volunteers come forward to help in the camp kitchen, infirmary, and facilities. Pray for our campers as they prepare to come to camp and brave the unknown with an open heart. Pray for our campers’ caretakers, who are entrusting their children to us this summer.
