Worship Style
About
River Road Church embraces worship that brings us close to God through thoughtful theology, liturgy, and the issues of the world around us, all of which matter to God.
God is both holy and personal. To capture these in our services, River Road Church’s worship is both formal and welcoming. “Gracious dignity” may describe our style, as does a commitment to a classical form of worshiping.
Sunday morning worship is the center of our gathered community of faith.
Every Sunday is a “little Easter” and celebrates the saving work of God in Jesus Christ. We believe that regular participation in worship sustains both the individual and the congregation seeking to live out God’s purpose in the world.
As a general practice, we follow the Revised Common Lectionary and our worship practices follow the liturgical calendar.
Regular Sunday worship is enhanced by special services throughout the year, as well as a vibrant music program.
Our regular service each Sunday is at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary.
During part of this service, children in the first and second grade are invited to Children’s Church, where they engage in age-appropriate activities related to the theme of the day. Children’s Church is led by our Minister with Children and lay leaders.
