Church Business Meeting

Time & Location: 12:10 p.m. in the Sanctuary and on Zoom

A Regular Church Business Meeting will be held Sunday, May 4, 2025, immediately following worship in the Sanctuary and via the Zoom videoconference platform.

Details for joining this meeting were emailed to church members on April 28. If you do not receive your notice, please email or call the church office at info@rrcb.org or 804-288-1131 by Friday, May 2. If you have any questions ahead of the meeting, please email them to info@rrcb.org by May 2.

As one of the items on the agenda, the pastor will present the following motion:

“I move that the church authorize the Chair and Vice Chair of Deacons, along with the pastor, to appoint an ordination council of ministers and lay persons, consistent with our church bylaws, to examine whether Carolyn Briggs has been “called by God to the work of ministry” (RRCB Bylaws, Section 2). The ordination council shall make a report to the entire Deacon Body. If the council’s report recommends Ms. Briggs for ordination, the Deacons shall vote upon the recommendation. Should the Deacons vote in affirmation of the council’s report, a service of ordination shall be scheduled.”

The Zoom waiting room will open shortly after the worship livestream concludes to allow access to the meeting. Please remember that we need a quorum of at least 100 people present to be able to conduct the meeting.
