You’re invited to the Annual Meeting and 150th Anniversary of the Virginia Baptist Historical Society, at River Road Church, Baptist, on Thursday, June 4, with dinner at 6 pm (fellowship hall), followed by the program at 7:15 in the sanctuary. The meeting is open to all; dinner by registration.
Melissa Rogers: What Baptists Got Right at the Founding and Why It Matters Today
For this special occasion, we will reflect on 150 years of the work of the Society and 250 years of the United States, including a keynote address by Melissa Rogers: What Baptists Got Right at the Founding and Why It Matters Today.
A nationally known expert on religion in American public life, her areas of expertise include the United States Constitution’s religious liberty guarantees and the interplay of law, religion, policy, and politics. Rogers currently serves as Distinguished Scholar in Faith, Law, and Public Policy in Wake Forest University’s School of Divinity and as a nonresident senior fellow in the Governance Studies program of the Brookings Institution.
