School Supplies & Toiletry Bags
Drop Off in the Lower Commons

July 16-19, July 22-26, and July 29-August 2, 2024, 9AM-5PM
Goal: 40 Backpacks & 30 Toiletry Bags
August 2-4: Virginia Tax Free Weekend
This year Richmond Public Schools is implementing a clear backpack policy—due to this change, the Board of Missions is providing the backpacks. We are asking that the church provide the schools supplies to fill 40 backpacks. Please fill a shopping bag with the full list of school supplies—each shopping bag should have all of the supplies needed to fill a backpack. In addition to the school supplies, we are also collecting toiletries. Please fill a gallon-sized ziplock with the toiletries. The full list of supplies and toiletries can be found below.
The deadline to drop off is Sunday, August 4, 2024. Please deliver supplies during any of the times listed above. Drop off donations in the Lower Commons, there will be designated/marked bins. Please note, the Lower Commons will be locked during the week—you will need to ring the bell/buzzer at the Lower Commons entrance, and someone from the church office or preschool office will grant access to the building.

Supplies to Fill a Backpack
(clear backpacks will be provided by the Board of Missions)
- 1 three-ring binder and divider tabs
- 1 or 2 packs of loose-leaf paper (wide or standard rule)
- 4 black and white composition books
- 2 one-subject spiral notebooks
- 1 three- or five-subject spiral notebook
- Pocket folders (with or without brads) in solid colors
- No. 2 pencils (not mechanical)
- Black or blue ink pens (no gel)
- Red pens
Filled Toiletry Bags (gallon ziplock bag)
- Deodorant (1.4 oz to 2.6 oz)
- Soap
- Wash Cloth
- Toothbrush
- Toothpaste (2.9 oz)
- Floss
- Mouthwash (12.5 oz to 13.5 oz)
Loose Toiletries
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Comb
- Brush
