Regular Church Business Meeting

Time & Location: immediately following Worship in the Fellowship Hall

A Regular Church Business Meeting will be held Sunday, April 12, 2026, immediately following worship in the Fellowship Hall. A Zoom option will be available, but you are highly encouraged to attend in person. The History Committee will host the reception following worship and we will celebrate our 80th Anniversary as A Family of Faith. Please remember that we need a quorum of at least 100 people present to be able to conduct the meeting—let’s make a traditionally low Sunday a high Sunday as we celebrate this our church! 

The agenda will include a motion to approve messengers for our denominational meetings in the fall and further discussion and presentation of the roof project.

The pastor will present the following motion:

I move that River Road Church approve any willing and qualified messengers to the River City Faith Network (October 22) and Baptist General Association of Virginia Annual Meetings (November 9-11) up to our maximum allotment of 5 and 15, respectively. Because of the timings of these meetings, sign up and recruitment of messengers will occur before our next scheduled meeting.

The Board of Administration will present the following motion:

The Board of Administration moves the approval of up to $430,000 to fund the remaining amount necessary for completion of the Roof Replacement Project, this amount includes a 10% contingency (not mentioned in a previous business meeting), and is in addition to the previously authorized $170,000 for the slate.

The roof in question is on the building connecting the sanctuary and the fellowship hall. Funding will come from the church’s reserve accounts.

If you have specific questions about this meeting, it would be helpful if you would submit those by Friday, April 10 at 5:00 p.m. as it is sometimes difficult to accommodate large group discussion via Zoom.
