Pilgrimage Walk Interest & Information Meeting
Time & Location: 6:30 p.m. on Zoom
Did you know that there are many walks which are considered pilgrimage opportunities? Join in for this meeting, during which many of these options will be briefly highlighted. Many folks spoke up following our recent pilgrimage trip and sharing time, expressing interest of their own. This will be an opportunity to hear more and make your interest known. If you would like to learn more, with the thought that you might want to participate in a future offering, this meeting is for you.
In 2023, RRCB sent group of ten to hike the Tinker Cliffs trail, along with other Virginia trails, and consider writings of Annie Dillard and other similar writers. A group traveled to walk the Camino Inglés in 2025 and shared about the meaningful nature of the journey at a TFC meeting in the fall. Both of these were deeply meaningful times to all who participated. But these are just two possible offerings.
- Some may wish to walk this same path on the Camino for themselves.
- Those who walked one part of the Camino may or may not wish to do a different path of it. (Yes, there are many pathways from various countries, of various lengths and difficulties)
- The 62-mile St. Cuthbert’s Way walks a path that focuses on monk and bishop, St. Cuthbert, a 7th century saint. The path visits important sites of his life, like Melrose and Lindisfarne.
- There are Celtic pathways through Ireland & Scotland on which writings such as those of John Philip Newell and John O’Donohue are most appropriate for reflection.
- In addition, there are places stateside that can offer a contemplative journey with the Lord in creation or at historic sites that can provide meaningful worship and reflection time.
To learn more, join for this interest meeting on January 13, at which you can offer your questions and share your level of interest in various options.
