taught by Rev. Dr. Tom Graves & Rev. Dr. Bill Tuck
Sundays, March 8-29, 2020
6:00-7:00 p.m., Assembly Room
Our sessions will be led by Dr. Tom Graves, Dr. Bill Tuck, and Rev. Anna Miller, and will involve presentation as well as open discussion. We will look at Jesus’ life in Matthew’s birth narrative, consider his context, faith, and self-understanding, continue through his last days, death, resurrection, and ascension. These lessons provide an overview for understanding how God lived as a man and what that means.
- March 8 – The Birth of Jesus: the vulnerability of God.
- March 15 – The Shaping of Jesus: context, culture, and Jewish identity.
- March 22 – The Identity of Jesus: self-understanding, baptism, temptations, and teachings.
- March 29 – The End of Jesus’ life: last days, death, resurrection, ascension.
Weekly questions or notes will be distributed prior to each session as fuel for thought.
