Baptist Roots: Exploring Our Spiritual Family Tree and Why It Matters with Nathan Taylor, Executive Director, Virginia Baptist Historical Society, 6:15-7:15 p.m., Assembly Room

Have you ever wondered what it means to call ourselves a “Baptist” church? Whether you grew up Baptist, married a Baptist, or joined us later in life from another tradition, we’ll explore the origins of Baptists and discuss the convictions that came to characterize this broad movement of Protestant dissenters. In so doing, we also will observe the relevance of this “spiritual DNA” to the present moment, while receiving a brief update on the work of the Virginia Baptist Historical Society and the Center for Baptist Heritage & Studies.
