Our Pastor
Rev. Dr. Daniel E. Glaze
Hello!
First things first—please call me Daniel.
As a pastor I realize that I have a very public persona. Most people know me by my preaching, teaching, or community leadership. But perhaps you don’t know quite so much about me.
I became the sixth Pastor of River Road Church, Baptist in November 2016. My responsibilities as pastor include preaching, encouraging spiritual formation, providing pastoral care, cultivating generosity, and leading our church to discover and engage our God-given mission.
I am passionate about the work we do together: quality worship, energizing the laity to lead well, and raising our next generation of ministers.
I am a graduate of Georgetown College, Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. A Richmond native, I came home after serving ten years as pastor of First Baptist Church of Ahoskie, North Carolina.
I am married to Andrea, a Louisville, KY, native. Andrea is trained as an Industrial-Organizational psychologist currently working as a policy analyst for the Virginia Department of Labor.
We are the proud parents of two daughters: Ella is a student at Wake Forest University, and Ashley is a high-schooler. Since the first day we arrived, the River Road family has warmly welcomed our family.
In addition to my full-time gig as pastor, I enjoy being a weekly podcast panelist for Faithelement. I gather with friends for conversation around weekly Lectionary texts as part of this internet-based and multi-dimensional Christian Education curriculum.
For Sabbath time, I enjoy family activities, a continual search for Richmond’s best cup of coffee, channeling my inner chef, and learning photography.
If you have any questions regarding your faith journey, pastoral ministry, our church in general, or if I may pray for you, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or at (804) 288-1131.
