In years past, River Road Church held a series of classes for new and prospective members that we titled Adult Orientation.  The idea behind the series was to help folks connect with this church family, in part by educating them about our church (history, ministries, structure, personnel, etc.) and also by identifying places of service and opportunities for growth in their discipleship.

front-page-slider-small-WND-standing-reservationsFor myriad reasons, it has been several years since we have scheduled such an event and we have decided it is well past time to pick up the practice again, albeit in a slightly different format.  We will hold the orientation session in conjunction with the Deacons Dinner on February 3, 2014.  New and prospective members and their families are invited to be our guests for dinner at 6:30pm.  When the deacons begin their meeting at 7:30pm, the adults will move to an adjacent area for our orientation time.   The session will include such things as information about the history of River Road and its distinctives, brief presentations by various ministers, and a tour of some of the church facilities you may not be familiar with.  Childcare will be provided.

If you are interested in attending, please call the Church Office (804-288-1131) or email Sheryl Johnson (sheryljohnson@rrcb.org) to make your reservation no later than Wednesday, January 29.  Should demand outpace our capacity, we will hold a second orientation in conjunction with the Deacons Dinner the first Monday of April.  When making your reservation, please indicate if childcare is needed so that we may plan accordingly.
