Easter Egg Hunt
Sunday, April 10, 2022
12:00 p.m., Plaza
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place Sunday, April 10 immediately following worship service on the Plaza for children ages birth through 5th grade. Don’t forget your Easter baskets to gather eggs!

Virtual Easter Lily to Support the Fellowship Fund
Bulletin listings are closed, but you are still encouraged to give to the Fellowship Fund.
We’d love it if you would give a gift in honor or memory of a loved one, and like always, we will list that gift in the bulletin on Easter Sunday. To be sure, we will still have lilies in the sanctuary, but we are confident that our generous congregation will give more than we need! Your gift of a “virtual lily” (the amount is up to you) will support our Fellowship Fund, helping those in financial crisis in the Richmond metro area. Easter Lily envelopes are available in the pew racks. You may send a check with “Easter gift” in the memo line, or you may give online (rrcb.org/give-online) and select “Easter gift” as the fund. Please include a note with your check or send an email to info@rrcb.org with your wording to be included in the bulletin.
The deadline for virtual Easter lilies and to be listed in the bulletin has been extended to Monday, April 11, 2022. Thank you for your generosity.

Labyrinth Walk in the Fellowship Hall
Tuesday-Thursday, April 12-14
Please enter the Fellowship Hall from the Plaza
Our canvas labyrinth is a replica of the one originally laid in the twelfth century in the floor of the Chartes Cathedral in France. As Holy Week comes to a close, River Road Church cordially invites you to experience a meditative walk. Written devotional material will be available to encourage your thoughtful walk. Additionally, there will be materials about the labyrinth history and it’s symbolism. We suggest that you allow approximately 45 to 60 minutes for the labyrinth experience. Up to two people can walk the labyrinth at the same time.
Extended hours are available on Wednesday evening, and will be open only if time slots are selected.
Hours:
- Tuesday: 12PM-4PM
- Wednesday: 12PM-8PM
- Thursday: 8AM-12PM

Stations of the Cross in the Chapel
Thursday-Saturday, April 14-16
Please enter the Chapel from the Plaza
We will have the Stations of the Cross set up in the Chapel during the times listed below. The walk takes no longer than a lunch break. Each station will have a written explanation and prayer. You may walk and read these to yourself or come in a group and have a person read at each station.
This journey is a walk of prayer and reflection. At every point along the way where we stop and pray, is a station on the journey of Jesus to the Cross. The stations provide space for worshipers to reflect on the passion of Christ, from the moment of his condemnation to his body being laid rest in the tomb. The movement between stations, the meditation on the scriptural narrative, and the prayers uttered as one walks the stations, create a spiritual environment that will provide a special place to experience the power and sorrow of the week leading to a joyous resurrection on Easter morning.
Hours:
- Thursday 12PM-6PM
- Friday 8AM-7PM
- Saturday 9AM-12PM

Maundy Thursday
Meal, Worship, & Holy Communion Around Tables
Thursday, April 14, 2022
6:00 p.m., Fellowship Hall
On Maundy Thursday, the night when Jesus gave us the Mandatum Novum (the new commandment that we love one another) and instituted the Last Supper or the Lord’s Supper, we will share a meal in the Fellowship Hall (by donation) and share a brief worship around the table culminating in communion.

Good Friday Service
Friday, April 15, 2022
7:30 p.m., Sanctuary
On Good Friday, at 7:30 pm, we will gather in the Sanctuary to worship and experience the service that is, for many of us, the most meaningful one of the year. We will share in a Tenebrae service, from the Latin word for darkness or shadows. This service involves hearing moving music by the Chancel Choir and the reading of the Scriptural narrative of the betrayal and crucifixion of Christ.
This service will also be livestreamed at rrcb.org/live.

Easter Decorating
Saturday, April 16, 2022
10:00 a.m., Sanctuary
Our sanctuary will be adorned for Easter this year from 10:00-11:30 AM on Saturday, April 16. Please note the change this year from Friday to Saturday for this joyous task. In addition to floral design people, we hope to see anyone who wants to be a part of the Easter celebration.

CBF Season of Prayer and Global Missions Offering
Because Presence Matters (Luke 24:13-25)
April 2022
RRCB Goal: $10,000
The mission God gave us to share the Gospel in word and deed has never been more important than it is now. When you give to the Offering for Global Missions, you support the long-term presence of field personnel in 19 countries as they cultivate beloved community, bear witness to Jesus Christ and seek transformational development among people and places otherwise forgotten and forsaken by the world.
100% of your gift to the Offering will support CBF Field Personnel serving in the U.S. and around the world. You may give to the Offering by using one of the envelopes in the pews and dropping it in the offering plate, mailing a check to the church office, or giving online at rrcb.org/give-online.
