DESCRIPTION:Time & Location: 7:00 pm in the Chapel\nAsh Wednesday Bulletin \nWe begin the pivotal season of Lent with our Ash Wednesday Service of Worship on February 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Ash Wednesday marks the start of Lent\, a season of spiritual renewal and preparation as we journey toward Easter. In this service\, we acknowledge with humility and honesty the ways we have fallen short of the fullness of our calling. Through prayer\, Scripture\, and silence\, we express repentance and trust in God’s grace. We also recognize our shared humanity and dependence on God through the receiving of ashes\, a visible sign of both mortality and hope. The service will include the imposition of ashes for all who wish to receive them. All are welcome. \nIf you need childcare for children 3 and under\, please contact sandyrooney@rrcb.org. \nThis service will not be a livestreamed. \nIf you are unable to attend because or work other personal responsibilities\, we will also be offering “Ashes to Go” throughout the day. \nThis was born from a desire to make this available to preschool parents\, but your pastoral staff is opening this opportunity to you\, too. This is a simple but meaningful way of bringing the church beyond the sanctuary and into the rhythms of daily life. On Ash Wednesday\, from 8:30-9:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.\, your pastoral staff will be present near the Lower Commons entrance offering prayer and the imposition of ashes to any who wish to receive them. Here you will have the opportunity to pause and remember God’s invitation to grace and steadfast love.

She is passionate about cultivating spaces where folks can discover community\, explore a variety of spiritual practices and tend their inner lives. In addition to her work with Inner Ground\, she facilitates classes in the spirituality program at Columbia Theological Seminary. Monica is married to her college sweetheart\, Phil\, who shares her love of travel and dark chocolate. She finds nourishment in tending her backyard garden\, walks with her Wheaten Terrier\, Frankie\, practicing yoga and being MomMom to her grandson\, Otis. \nChanco on The James near Williamsburg \nWe will begin with dinner on Friday at 6:30 pm and end Sunday morning by 10 am. Chanco on the James is a lovely retreat center about an hour away offering single or double occupancy\, each room with its own bathroom. The center is flat and accessible and offers lovely views of the James River. \nAll rooms are double occupancy\, $220 person\, with twin beds and\, and a private bath to share. You are welcome to select a roommate (indicate this when signing up)\, or we will pair you with someone we believe will be a good fit. \nWhen signing up please also any dietary needs. DESCRIPTION:Time & Location: 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.\, Meet at Richmond’s First Baptist Church\nA mission partnership with RRCB and Richmond’s First Baptist Church to bring a van with much needed supplies to homeless gathering spots around Richmond.
