There are a couple things I enjoy in life: cupcakes, music (I went to five concerts this summer!), art, and Disney. One of my favorite blogs is called Oh My Disney (OMD). It is an official Disney blog that uses pictures, gifs, and quotes from Disney movies, shows, and parks to create fun, quirky, and witty posts about how your real life relates to Disney.

Recently, OMD had a post entitled “How to Fall for Fall.” It is a brief list of tips to help you prepare for the end of summer and jump into the fall, Disney-style. Most of the tips are manageable (making soup, taking a warm bubble bath, watching The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, etc.), but some of the others require a little more imagination or effort. At the end of the day, I think what this post is telling us is that summer is not necessarily the only season for relaxation and fun.

It is now mid-September and we are back in full swing at church with weeks filled with activities. As we feel the weather change from hot to warm and from cool to cold, and we see the leaves change color and cover the ground, it is important to remember to take care of ourselves. Let’s make fall a season to remember and not just a time to return to routine and normalcy. So next Windsday, “bask in the sunlight,” wear your first fall outfit (unless we’re still in a heat wave), and “enjoy outdoor games in the crisp air.”
