Holy Waiting—Luke 21:25-36, Jeremiah 33:14-16

We don’t just jump right into Christmas. There are four long weeks of active waiting. What might watchful waiting look like in our lives?

Holy Preparation—Luke 1:68-79, Luke 3:1-6

How do we prepare for the birth of Christ in our lives and in our world? What does it mean to “prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight”?

Holy Singing—Luke 1:39-55

Mary’s song is a beautiful one, but when looking at today’s world, it’s easy to believe that her vision for God’s reign of justice has not fully come to pass. How might we join the chorus in singing Mary’s song?

Holy Birth—Luke 2:1-20

We will study together Luke’s version of Jesus’ birth story, paying special attention to the shepherds—and how they celebrate the great gift of God in the birth of Jesus Christ.
